Your balance
One balance in USDC for every trade, how money gets to each exchange, and withdrawing.
Everything on noct is in dollars. Your balance is USDC in your own wallet, on Arbitrum, and it pays for every kind of trade.
When a trade needs money at its exchange (Hyperliquid for Perps, Polymarket for Predict, Derive for Options), placing the order brings it there, usually in about a second. Cash an exchange already holds stays there for your next trade, and still counts in your balance.
Adding money
| Way in | What happens |
|---|---|
| Card, Apple Pay or Google Pay | Buys USDC, which lands in your balance. |
| From an exchange (Coinbase, Binance and others) | Converted to USDC on the way. |
| USDC on Arbitrum | Send it straight to your wallet's address. |
| Any other chain (USDC, USDT or the chain's own coin, Solana included) | Send $5 or more to the address shown. It lands as USDC in a minute or two, and the address is yours to use again for that chain and token. |
Every deposit and withdrawal shows up in your notifications.
The network fee
Moving money to a trade's exchange is carried by Relay, a cross-chain payments network. Its fee comes out of the money moved, and the ticket shows it as network fee before you confirm: about $1.20 the first time money goes to Perps (it opens your account on Hyperliquid, a one-time cost of Hyperliquid's), a few cents after that and elsewhere, and nothing when the exchange already has the cash. Options wait a few minutes for Derive to credit the money.
Do I need gas? No. Trades on every venue are signed messages, not transactions, and moving money is a signature too. Where a step does need gas, noct pays it.
Withdrawing
Choose a chain and an address, and your wallet signs.
- USDC on Arbitrum leaves your balance straight away, with no fee.
- Any other chain or token goes through Relay in seconds, its cost included in the amount you're shown before you confirm.
- Cash free in Perps is included, brought over in a second.
- Cash left in Predict or Options after a trade closes is brought over when you ask, in a minute or two (Options when Derive pays out, which costs up to $1).
